CompTIA A +
CompTIA A + certification has been called the "IT technician entry fee" for good reason. This certification is intended for career seekers such as help desks, support, service centers or network technicians. Includes PC and laptop hardware, software installation and configuration of computers and mobile operating systems. A + also verifies a candidate's understanding of basic networking skills, problem solving and security that serve as a springboard for CompTIA networks or security certifications or those offered by other organizations.
According to CompTIA, over one million IT professionals have obtained A + certification. A + is required for service technicians from Dell, Intel and HP and is recognized by the United States Department of Defense. CompTIA released new "core" exams for the CompTIA A + certificate on January 15, 2019. These new exams provide additional attention to operational skills and basic safety issues. Candidates must pass the Core 1 (220-1001) and Core 2 (220-1002) exams. The Core 1 exam covers virtualization, cloud computing, mobile devices, hardware, network technology and troubleshooting. Core 2 exams focus on installing and configuring operating systems, troubleshooting software problems, operating procedures, and security.
