A technology coordinator performs a wide range of functions, but the job can be summed up as working with various aspects of a company's technology infrastructure. This may include assisting problematic end users, installing and configuring computer systems, working on telecommunication systems, or coordinating technology projects.

Technology coordinators generally report to a technology manager, however their duties are often performed with minimal supervision. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the network and information systems administrators sector is expected to grow 8% through 2024. Duties and responsibilities of the technology coordinator

Provide support to users

Often a technology coordinator will be required to offer assistance to users of information systems. This may involve communicating with local and remote users in person, by phone, or by email. This role requires troubleshooting and a solid understanding of computers.

Implement the technology

A technology coordinator is responsible for implementing new technologies and relaunching current systems. This may include system planning, creating cost analyzes, ordering supplies, coordinating with suppliers, working or supervising component installation, planning system tests, and creating training for users of the new technology.

Project management

Technology coordinators will often be tasked with managing multiple technology projects. They will need to assemble an appropriate team, research technologies, schedule meetings, plan project timelines, and oversee the implementation of the project. Some technology coordinators will have large teams to work with, while others will have to do many of the tasks on their own.
