Duties and Responsibilities of NOC Analysts

 


NOC Analysts, also known as Network Operations Analysts, manage and troubleshoot IP networks and devices. Many network systems companies employ full-time NOC analysts to work with changing trends, including nights and weekends, and sometimes even call hours. NOC analysts work independently and in a team environment and report to data supervisors. Travel rarely requires this work until NOC analysts are asked to travel through business lines to manage networks

Duties and Responsibilities of NOC Analysts

NOC analysts perform many different tasks depending on the size of the corporate network and the level of support and maintenance the network needs. However, these basic functions are the same in all areas:

Network problem

NOC analysts solve IP networks and network devices. This includes troubleshooting personal computers and laptops connected to the network.

Keep networks secure

NOC analysts monitor network security, isolate security vulnerabilities, and resolve security issues that affect the network. This includes network diagnostics programs to diagnose problems and monitor the overall health of the network.

write reports

NOC analysts regularly write analytics and reports on network infrastructure.

Replace the equipment

NOC analysts are replacing faulty or well-functioning devices connected to the network.

Design notes

NOC analysts write scripts and design automated network jobs to increase efficiency.

Provide technical support

NOC analysts respond to calls from customers and other company employees for technical support.

Fix failures

NOC analysts solve failure problems by isolating programs and working with engineers to find solutions.
