Duties and responsibilities of administrative support

Administrative support managers assist executives in day-to-day business management by assisting with secretarial and administrative processes. This job includes activities such as organizing meetings and trips, responding to inquiries, and implementing office systems and procedures. This role is in the office and can be full or part time, although most clerical support employees work full time. Overtime may be required during peak periods. Administrative support employees are good communicators with excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.

Make appointments

Manage expense reports

Administrative support employees record business expenses and submit or reconcile expense reports periodically. These are then used at the end of the year for the production of tax assessments.

Order office supplies

Administrative support workers monitor office inventory, such as desktop and computer equipment, and place orders when quantities decrease or if new equipment or software is needed.
